ONRTV - Tchad 1.1.1

A public service media created in December 1987 under exceptional conditions, Télé Tchad is one of the two directorates - the other being the management of Radio Chad - which forms the National Broadcasting and Television Office of Chad (ONRTV). The National Television comprises five (5) sub-directions namely:

1) News Sub-Directorate;
2) Program sub-directorate;
3) Technical sub-management;
4) The sub-direction of the antenna;
5) And the production sub-direction.

It should be noted that the last two are created in August 2011 to meet one, the challenge of quality by controlling, upstream, the various programs to be broadcast and the other, to raise the production. Television has taken another dimension, with the satellite broadcasting of its programs from December 2008, about twenty services under different sub-directions were also created, all to make national television perform.

In the face of competition from foreign television channels, which unfortunately give everything to be consumed because they are easily accessible, TV Chad opted for local production, foreign programs being broadcast incidentally. The objective of this policy is obviously the enhancement of our cultures but also make TV a melting pot of national unity. In the same vein, and in order to further the voice and image of Chad, the highest authorities have not skimped on the means to equip the TV of the latest generations of equipment and thus hoist it to the level of other televisions. In addition to the acquisition of some 20 HD cameras, the TV has three (3) cars for live broadcasts, two (2) satellite suitcases, one (1) modern studio and ten editing benches, all digital. . It also has a well-stocked car park that allows it to accomplish without major difficulties its mission: that of informing and educating the population, that of making visible the actions of the government, that of bringing the problems of society to the decision-makers that of bringing the rulers closer to the governed, that of contributing to political pluralism, to the construction of peace and to development. As a result, TV has become unavoidable, hence its multiple demands.

In a world in perpetual mutations where TV has become an issue, the government has also initiated a project to prepare the transition to digital everything from 2015. Meanwhile, the young people sent to training will return and the twelve-storey building in front of hosted the ONRTV, will be delivered. This migration to TNT will undoubtedly be a revolution. However, of all those experienced by TV Chad, it seems to operate with more or less preparation. Still, some agents still need to be recycled. This is the challenge.



Presentation of Radio Chad
At the proclamation of the independence of Chad, the National Radio was only a relay of the colonial radio of the AEF (French Equatorial Africa) emitting of Brazzaville in Congo. It was not until 1963, following agreements signed between Chad and France, to see Radio Chad become a national station. It therefore enjoyed management autonomy. But his Director was obliged to submit to the Minister of Information the messages to be broadcast. In addition, the Directorate of Radio and the animation of the broadcasts were provided, for the most part, by expatriate staff, particularly French.
